About Ray JR

Ray Winegarner (born January 4, 1982),is an American actor, recording artist, and rapper from East Cleveland, Ohio. He made his debut under the name Young Ray, and appeared as Ray Jr. on Machine Gun Kelly's 2010 track, "I Know". He then broke through in 2011 with "Sloppy," a regional club hit that earned him a contract with Def Jam. By 2014, he released "Same Crew" through Legit Paper Entertainment. Because of his previous experiences, he became an independent artist, not wanting to sign on to any other major record labels. His book, Legit Paper, was published in 2018, and in 2020, he starred in the comedy film, Rent Due.


Starting as a national recording artist, Ray Jr. has worked with a host of labels before branching out and starting his own. Outside of music Ray is notably an author, serial entrepreneur and philanthropist. Using life experiences and his passion for writing Ray Jr. has transferred his skill set into a diverse catalogue of films. After the success of his film Rent Due Ray is now focusing on the release of his latest project “Only Child”.
